Hi all!

We have some exciting news to document today... we now have a sixth member to the team! It's quite strange watching our cosplay family grow... the last time we adopted a new member was all the way back in the summer of 2009, when we asked MaelaAdurna along to the party.

But, here we are again! And this time, it's our long time friend, and stalker, Harriet, who we have asked to cosplay more often with us, and become a pea in our cosplay pod~  (*´・v・) Harriet, who used to be Starreyy, has known us for a while, as she used to be an online pen pal of Tennotsuki's, and proceeded to become a cosplay pal of the old team's, after we discovered she was relatively local to where we are all based. This was a couple years ago, and since then, Harriet has been a superbly enthusiastic supporter of our cosplay escapades, and we have had much fun being able to both photograph her in her costumes, and also, more recently, cosplay along with her. (She's recognizable as our pet zombie in some of the most recent HOTD shots we've uploaded here and there.)

We've considered Harriet, and her plus-one, Matt, as cosplay family for a very long time - and so a magical voice on the wind hinted to Tennotsuki that it would make Harriet's birthday awfully special if we invited her to officially join our LunaticsWithLemonade cosplay group~ "ヽ(´▽`)ノ"

This is highly good timing, as Harriet is cosplaying Alice from Heart no Kuni no Alice at this year's October London Expo, alongside Tennotsuki who is still battling Queen Vivaldi, and abrighterworld0, who is cosplaying Blood Dupre. Now Harriet will have lots of chances to meet new people, be able to showcase her hard cosplay work through our various websites, and also have a group to bully into the group cosplays she wants to do~ (And believe us... Tennotsuki has always been very "persuasive" in getting the group to cosplay her favourites...)

Harriet doesn't have a dA anymore (she deleted her old one, Starreyy ), and nor does she has an individual cosplay profile anywhere, but you will now be able to track her progress, and hopefully look at some of her past work through all of our LWL pages, which we're currently updating. Harriet will also have access to all of these, like the rest of us, so she can put up things that she likes~ ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)

As usual, you can find us all over the place: dA, Facebook, Twitter, Blogspot and Tumblr, all of which focus on different aspects of our cosplay adventures - cosplay remains a great hobby for all of us, and whilst some of us are looking at more serious competitions, or exploring different techniques, we just want to share our fun and inspire a next generation to pick up a sewing needle or a hot glue gun!

That's all for now, folks~ But please look forward to October's projects... we promised some super exciting things! Look our for crazy sized ball gowns, fantasy armours, and large rifles~ °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Hi all!

This is gonna be a bit of a PSA, as we've got a small handful of news and updates to share.

Firstly, as per the title, we've got a new Facebook page! It's mainly because Tennotsuki decided she didn't like our old group page, because she'd been rather lazy and neglected it over an long time. The photos were all disordered and not categorized, there was a lot of out of date information, and the wall was a mess of notifications from all sorts of people.
Furthermore, Tennotsuki wanted to procrastinate from revision, so what better way than to delete the old page, and start a fresh?

The new page is now up and running, and you can find it here: www.facebook.com/LWLcosplay

It's a page which you can "like", meaning it only takes a click to support us! We'e always super grateful for each and every person who takes an interest in what we have done thus far in our cosplay career, and who looks forward, with us, to new projects and events. It's your support that drives us to be better cosplayers!

The function of this page is pretty straight forward: we want a place to share all of our old and new cosplays, as well as progress pictures and behind-the-scenes nonsense. Not only that, but a Facebook page offers us the chance to easily communicate with fans, followers and friends, and share news and announcements about what we're up to!

---

Secondly, whilst we're updating, here's the plan for May Expo, next month:

Friday: Tablature and Tennotsuki will be doing Fairly Odd Parents, immy724 and MaelaAdurna will be doing Vocaloid White Magnet, and abrighterworld0 is working towards doing Johan from YuGiOh GX.

Saturday: Tennotsuki, Tablature, immy724 and abrighterworld0 will be doing Highschool of the Dead. MaelaAdurna has plans to do gijinka Espeon, with her uni friend doing gijinka Umbreon~ We're very excited for Donnie's new cosplay!

Sunday: the entire group will be doing Hellsing!

As you can see, these are all rewears, which is due to the pressure of the exam period at the moment. Three of us are finishing Sixth Form, so our final exams fall very close to Expo weekend, and time could not be spent making new cosplays when revision was needed. However, we love our old cosplays, and don't want to see them gathering dust in our wardrobes. Fingers crossed that we'll get some sweet photos for some of our older stuff!

New cosplays will be coming your way in the autumn, and some photoshoots in the summer too!

We're planning on a cosplay trip to Cardiff for a week, where we'll be making the most of the south Wales countryside to shoot: Hellsing, Lord of the Rings (yeah, we know you haven't seen any of that yet...), Highschool of the Dead, Vocaloid, FOP and maybe TLU.

In the autumn, look out for:
- Bleach
- Heart no Kuni no Alice
- Final Fantasy
- Studio Ghibli

So that's it!

Just to remind you all, drop us a note and a like on our new page: www.facebook.com/LWLcosplay or, as always, find us on here, on our Tumblr, Twitter, or Blogspot.

Thanks for your support! See you soon!

2012 Review

10 min read
Hi all,

It's been a while - we're sorry we've been inactive as of late. This last season has been a little hectic, especially in terms of fitting in cosplay around school and university requirements.

Lucy, Imo and Charley have all applied for university this autumn, with successes so far where they have come in. Imo has an offer to study Spanish with Japanese at Manchester (amongst others), and Lucy has an offer to study Chemistry with Industrial Experience at Warwick (amongst others), whilst Charley is currently facing the interview stage in her application to nursing.

Harrie has had a successful first term at the University of Sheffield studying Japanese, but the three of us down south miss her a lot! Donnie, too, is now a term into her second year studying Animal Behaviour up in Liverpool.

---

The year started successfully, as we cosplayed Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan in the first cosplay season, which was very enjoyable. Lucy was incredibly proud of the costumes, which she put an incredible amount of effort into. She also had fun creating sewing patterns from scratch for the hakama, which she says were her favourite things to see finished in the end.

We wore Hakuouki to May's MCM Expo in sweltering heat, which wasn't ideal, as most of us couldn't wear all the layers of all our costumes. The heat also made the event slightly less enjoyable than usual, and it didn't help that some of our best friends were absent.

However, we did finally take to the competitive stage in May with Hakuouki, which is a first for the group! (And quite ridiciulous, as Lucy and Imo are now well into their sixth year of cosplay...) We hope to try our hand on stage again in the near future.

In August, we had our Hakuouki shoot, which was really successful and a great trip out into the Wiltshire countryside... we packed all our kit into the boot of Donnie's tiny car (cameras, tripods, swords... everything), and then crammed ourselves in. Lucy had managed to locate a Chinese garden not far away from where she lives - and it was a stunning place (our photos really don't do it justice!). The owners too were absolutely charming.

In general, Hakuouki seems to be the highlight of the year - as costumes both well-made (in terms of the skill level we're at as a group), and enjoyable to wear in public. We hope to wear them again, and shoot them again soon.

---

2012 was also important in coming to terms with future plans for the group - seeing as we're going to be split up all over the country come October next year, we will no longer have our "base" in the south-west. In terms of group cosplays, this will make it more diifcult to work together, especially as Lucy has her sights set on some more elaborate costumes, and no longer has the time to make all five costumes (despite the fact Imo put pedal to the metal this year and learned to use the sewing machine very well indeed).

So, we decided to loosen the reigns a little and permit ourselves to cosplay solo, or with other smaller groups should we be asked. However, we have decided to try and do one group set every season, or at least every year.

We test ran this idea at October's MCM Expo, where we split up our cosplays on the Friday: Lucy and Charley finally got to do Fairly Odd Parents, which they found jolly good fun to wear (and a nightmare to style the wigs). Imo and Donnie wore Vocaloid White Magnet - of which Imo had sewn her entire dress from scratch - an eight piece bodice as her first ever project no less! Harrie ran a little late getting there on friday evening, but briefly rewore Busujima from HOTD.

In the evening, Lucy worked with Imo and Don to photoshoot their White Magnet cosplays, the results of which are still being processed (or Lucy is too lazy to email Imo the photos to edit) - but they looked ever so cute!

On Saturday and Sunday, we cosplayed Lord of the Rings. This has been one of Lucy and Imo's dream cosplays since they started cosplaying way back in 2007. We did all four Hobbits + Aragorn, and it really was a challenge.

The time restraint was the main issue, as Lucy was incredibly bogged down with work at the time, and so had only a week to make all five costumes (alothough she did emply Imo's handiwork for a couple of the days). Furthermore, the project also involved working with difficult suades and leather, as well as the sewing of mass capes, and having to hem them all (Lucy says she is still not happy with the result, as she was rushed at that point and her handiwork was messy).

The wigs were also incredibly difficult to acquire - curly wigs are a nightmare, so we had to settle for some temporary ones which, although matching the colour, were not really accurate the characters. In the future, we look to improve our LOTR cosplays, as we were not totally happy with them - although they did get a lot of recognition in London, and people seemed to love the idea.

October was fun for other reasons however - we bunked with our babies Harriet and Matthew, who were wearing their Tangled cosplays (Lucy actually was commissioned to make Matthew's Flynn Rider shirt, which she says is one of the things she's most proud of in terms of neatness and effort put in to making) - they were absolutely adorable, and great fun staying with for three days. We look forward to working with them more in the future - and hopefully cosplaying with them too!

We had a LOTR trivial pursuit match in the evening of the Saturday with some close cosplay friends, which Lucy likes to boast that she won single handedly with her epic knowledge of Lord of the Rings (which might be slightly truthful), and much fun was had. We had also watched the EuroCosplay finals that day, which was an incredible experience, seeing all these stunning cosplays from all over the continent - Lucy says she was certialy inspired. We were there to support one of the British representatives, Ben, in his Elrond cosplay (fellow Ringer, as you can see), who then popped over to the hotel in the evening to hang out with us. He is a lovely person, and Lucy is certainly very grateful to him for his encouraging words about the cosplay she makes and plans to make - he prompted her to try her hand at solo competition, and now she plans to work towards entering her planned Vivaldi into a competition in the autumn season of 2013.

---

As for 2013, we have a few plans here and there, though it will be a year of big change as the last three of us take our IB and A level exams and head off to university in the autumn.

For the spring season, we don't have any new plans, as Lucy's exams happen throughout May, so she needs to revise thoroughly. Imo and Charley then have their A level exams in June. For May's MCM Expo, we plan to do some rewears, namely Highschool of the Dead and Hellsing, our personal group favourites. If Lucy has time, however, in the week between the end of her IB exams and Expo, she will remake the Harkonnen for her Seras cosplay.

There might be some photoshoots in the spring time though, so keep your eyes peeled for The Last Unicorn, and potentially HOTD or LOTR. We definitely have plans to shoot all three of those properly, and maybe Hellsing (again) and Usavich over the lengthy summer, as we have been discussing a weekend away for shooting in the summer with our babies Harriet and Matthew.

The long summer will also be of great benefit to our autumn season plans. We might try our hands at some summer conventions in the meanwhile, but the time will be wisely spent on working on some massive projects.

Lucy has her heart set on doing something massive, as she's often quite resticted in what she can do, having to work for quantity over quality. Her current plan is to do Vivaldi from Heart no Kuni no Alice - essentially a full-skirt ballgown, corsetted, with a rather grand headpiece in the shape of her heart. Not only is this something completely different, involving many new skills, but it's also something quite feminine, which Lucy says she wants to do once in a while!

Imo and Donnie, having done a really successful pair in october, want to work together again, and so are uniting in their love for Final Fantasy to do Rikku and Yuna Dark Knight versions from FFX2. The main obstacle here will be armour making, which Imo has already started practicing in, and something that will certainly be rewarding in outcome.

Charley syas she wants to cosplay Momohime from Oboro Muramasa, which will be a good starter for delving into cosplay making. It's also a series we've had lined up on the back bench for group cosplay, so it'll be good to see how it goes down. Harrie is still undecided, having talked about joining Lucy in doing Blood from Heart no Kuni, or instead doing a Kyary Pamu Pamu costume.

Lucy and Harrie have also dicussed doing a pairs cosplay on another day in October - probably Bleach, since they both love it. Lucy and Harrie both liked the new timeskip versions of the shinigami, namely Matsumoto and Yumichika respectively.

Should funds permit, a group cosplay has also been discussed for October, but naturally, with us all doing more extravagent solo pieces, it will take the back burner. However, we would like to do The Bride of the Water God, as it has some stunning costumes, but no characters have been set in stone, a part from that Lucy has her eye on Nakbin, Imo on So-Ah and Charley would make a good Water God (his name escapes us right now). If this doesn't go ahead for October, look for it in early 2014.

---

So, that's the 2012 review finished! We haven't been overly busy this year, but thank you for continued support, and we'll try to be more active next year, especially come the summer and some freedom!

As always, you can find us on our Facebook page, our Tumblr, our Blogspot and our Twitter - all of which get updated slightly more frequently than this page, and all with different things. Our Facebook page focusses more on announcements, our Tumblr posts old photos and some unseen outtakes, our Blogspot is updated by Imo, who writes reports on events and also updates with progress pictures and tutorials, whereas Twitter is a good place for getting our comments/updates whilst we're out and about.

Have a good new year, and happy cosplaying!

Hello world~

4 min read
Hi all,

Sorry for the meager amount that we've been posting lately... we've all been very busy this year so far, what with the ever demanding presence of various exams, both uni, AS, A2 and IB exams.

May Expo was enjoyable... though the heat certainly made it less so than usual. It did not help that we were clad in layer upon layer - Tennotsuki  had to leave off three of her layers because it was so bad!

We were sad that four of our favourite people (Tepshie, FlickeringCrimson, LadyLunaNinja and the ever awesomely tall Karsten) were not there... events are never the same without them.

However, we did get to meet up with some local friends - we hung out with Katie (lavabug1030) and Mollie (crimenyjicket) for some time (legends)... as well as introduce our darlings Harri (stareyy and Matt to their first big event.

May also saw us do the Masquerade for the first time (though we didn't go in for judging because we were, frankly, bricking ourselves over it). It was not that bad in the end though, and we then got to watch the rest of the competition (ah-may-zing!) and meet some charming people.

---

Tomorrow, we've organized a photoshoot for our Hakuouki cosplays at a rather gorgeous oriental garden that Tennotsuki found about 30 minutes by car away from where most of us are based.

Fingers crossed it doesn't rain, but I'd rather have a cloudy day than a hideously hot one like we had at the end of May, and last week.

Hopefully this will mean more updates in the next few weeks - providing we take some nice snaps, and it all doesn't dissolve into crack. It should be pleasant enough in itself as a renunion for the group, seeing as we only ever get together as a five at Expos and bigger events. Plus, with MaelaAdurna at university, and abrighterworld0 heading off in September herself, it will make a great send off for them~

---

As for the next set of cosplays, we're currently undecided, but a decision should (and better) be made tomorrow.

For October's Expo, the programme is as follows:

Friday: free choice i.e. Tennotsuki and Tablature are doing Failry Oddparents, abrighterworld0 is either doing Kyari Pamu Pamu or YuGiOh, and MaelaAdurna and immy724 are doing Vocaloid.

Saturday: re-wear... and we've decided on Highschool of the Dead, seeing as it's fun, popular and comfy~

Sunday: new group cosplay... we're choosing between:
- K-ON
- Vocaloid EGR/Love is War or Secret Police
- Oburo Muramasa
- Elemental Gelade
- Lord of the Rings (hobbits!)

The reason we're swtiching it up a bit is because Tennotsuki has too much school work to make everyone's cosplays everytime, so she's decided to only make her own stuff, forcing everyone else to fend for thereselves in the scary world of sewing machines.... I kid - they all wanted (and needed) to learn to sew themselves before we all end up around the country at different universities.

However, this will mean that we can do more than one new costume set for each event, and that we can attempt more complex stuff... Tennotsuki has her heart set on doing Queen Vivaldi some time next year~

Adios muchachos~

We've got a Tumblr! (Wow, awesome!) ... despite the fact we seem to have an account on every single other social networking site ever. Except Twitter. But that's the next step! ;D

As Lucy runs our Facebook and DeviantArt pages, Harrie will be overseeing the Tumblr page, though you might see little updates from everyone else once in a while! (I also believe we have a Blog somewhere... run by Imo!)

The Tumblr will mainly be about updates as we move along with our cosplay progress, but you can also find old photos from previous cosplays there too! (How cool!) Also, amusing cosplay things will be dotted here and there... I just had a look and it looks like it's taking shape nicely!

So, if you wouldn't mind following us (and the subsequent cosplay dash spam) and you would like to support us as we continue to grow as cosplayers, please take a look at: www.lunaticswithlemonade.tumblr.com

---

As an aside, I better announce our May Expo cosplay for this year... Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan! We've spent a bloody fortune on materials and wigs and SWORDS so it better be worth the effort!

immy724 as Yukimura Chizuru
Tennotsuki as Okita Souji
abrighterworld0 as Saitou Hajime
Tablature as Hijikata Toshizhou
MaelaAdurna as Heisuke Todo

Look out for us at MCM Expo from 25th - 27th May and if you see us, please say hello!
